This level has four classes. Students at the pull-out level meet with an ELL teacher for a small portion of their day. Emphasis is placed on bringing the students’ English language skills up to the mainstream level. The subjects offered at this level are: English, reading, spelling, and handwriting.
There is a beginning level for grades two through four that is designed especially for students in the lower grades needing a significant amount of support as they enter a school that uses English as the language of instruction.
The three other classes are designed especially for students who have acquired basic English language skills (from the intermediate to the high-intermediate level), but still need additional support in order to be successful in the mainstream curriculum. Different classes are offered for students in the upper grades and the lower grades.
